Applications of call forwarding communication
Call Forwarding, as the term amply indicates, is to forward your incoming telephone calls to another phone number that can be your home or office or mobile number or even voice mail. This is indeed a great feature except for the fact that forwarding calls to phone numbers outside your local calling area will be as long distance calls.
Forwarding calls, simply defined, can increase your availability to a caller. Yet another blessing of this feature is your caller will not be confronted with annoying situations like no network, busy, out of reach, unable to receive call etc.
The only other alternative is an answering machine or voicemail, but some callers resent leaving a recorded message, fearing that the called party may delay or even forget to return their calls.
Some businesses appreciate that a human touch is essential and so they have their calls forwarded to a call center. This way, the client can reach an operator instead of an answering machine or voice mail.
Call Forwarding is today a standard feature offered by many service providers. Using Call Forwarding facility is quite simple:
To Activate:
• Press *72.
• Enter the phone number where you want calls to be forwarded. (e.g. *72-908-123-4567).
• Press SEND and wait for confirmation. You should hear a confirmation tone or a message.
• Press END.
To Deactivate:
• Press *73.
• Press SEND and wait for confirmation. You should hear a confirmation tone or a message.
• Press END.
Call Forward No Response - This feature can be activated when you wish to have calls forwarded to another number when you are away from your phone. If there is no response from your phone after three or five rings or your phone is switched off, the call will be forwarded to your pre-selected number.
Call Forward Busy - This feature can be activated to route all your incoming calls to a selected phone number when you are busy on your phone attending another call.
Advanced Forwarding - This feature allows you to forward your incoming calls to different phone numbers at different times of the day, depending on your weekly schedule.
Business travelers and employees have found Call Forwarding an easy and effective means of staying in touch with the customers. Call Forwarding immensely helps in building international business without the brick and mortar. Toll free call forwarding works when you sign up for toll free phone numbers - domestic as well as overseas. When customers call the numbers, the calls are automatically forwarded to your pre-determined phone, regardless where in the world you are.
Some service providers offer international Call Forwarding by allocating for the customer a local virtual phone number which is forwarded to any other international destination. This is one easy and cost-effective way to develop overseas business.
With Toll Free Call Forwarding, many service providers will also offer useful business-friendly features at no additional cost. Each phone number may come with voicemail/fax to email, auto attendant, and the ability to ring multiple lines, either simultaneously or in sequence.
Toll Free Call Forwarding to a single phone is no doubt useful, but if you want added facilities, you can opt for multiple call forwarding. You can choose up to five numbers that will ring simultaneously in the event of an incoming call. It is a quick and convenient way to ensure no customer call ever gets missed.
