Offshore Software Research and Development in India
The need of software research and development has increased noticeably by 2003. The offshore software development companies India have been leading the world software development recently. Through reports generated by a group of eminent scholar it is proven that at present India is sharing almost 50% of all the software developing companies.
The main reason behind this upsurge is that India provides the developed software at much cheaper rate when compared to the local software developers. The other reasons are, however, different. They are quality of infrastructure, global connectivity, and availability of human capital prevailing in this region.
Offshore software development services offered by such companies include business consultation, project planning, system analysis, business analysis, custom software solutions, database design, programming, user interface implementation, etc. depending on the demands of the clients. Each and every client gets tailor-made solutions from the software developers.
Thus gradually, the competition has increased to a cut-throat situation as more and more such companies are gaining ground. Hence, time is becoming the most important factor. There is no scope for mistakes and even the working hours of an employee depends on the time determined by the client. This helps in smooth communication between the two, making work a bit easy.
In case we consider the scenario of the foreign grounds, we see that the total number of graduates pursuing software development in their degree hardly meets half the demand of their country. Even the immigration process for most of the countries is confusing and tiresome. Thus outsourcing becomes the most practical solution opted by the westerners.
The steps that are followed by the developers to build the products according to the client’s desire are such that all the possibilities of miscommunication and misunderstandings are countermanded. For each and every process of development the client is contacted for their opinion. This gives no scope of wrong-doing. The work done includes numerous number of experienced IT professionals. With their talent and wits the demands of the clients are accommodated.
Thus more graduate students tend to join this career option for its astounding scope of advancement. But apart from all the good sides of the career, some disadvantages are also there. The most important being the fact that India is lacking PhD students. According to recent research we have come across the fact that a time will soon come when India will not be able to meet its demand for PhD’s.
Though in recent times well paid job opportunities are also being offered to the highly qualified PhD students so that students can be tempted to take this career option more seriously. But for the young minds with such high dreams money makes a better option. So a balance has to be made in this ground so that both IT professionals and PhD students be there in the country so that India can flourish not only in IT sector but also in the other fields as well, as all round advancement is more welcoming in the recent times.
