A tour to South India will be an ideal tropical holiday to experience the picturesque countryside, the splendid ancient monuments, the beautiful silvery beaches and the colourful festivals that beckon the hungry tourists to India. Board the luxurious Golden Chariot to view the ancient temple architecture in Tamil Nadu, the mesmerizing natural environs of Kerala and the historical spots in Karnataka.

South India Tour Packages

There are several South India tour packages to choose from. If you are prepared to spend a fortnight, you can cover a larger territory. One of the tours covers the three important southern States.

Your tour to South India starts in Bangalore in Karnataka also called the ‘Garden City’. The lush greenery and the pleasant weather attract people to this charming city. The Bangalore Fort, the Ganesha Temple and the Bull Temple are worth a visit.

You cannot afford to miss the beautiful parks of Bangalore – the Cubbon Park built in 1864, and the Lal Bagh which is a 240-acre garden. Your South India travel packages should take you to the stately Vidhana Soudha which houses Bangalore’s State Legislature and some government offices.

Day 2 covers the city of Mysore which has 17 palaces that got its name the ‘city of palaces’. A visit to the Mysore Palace and the Jaganmohan Palace is followed by a trip to the Chamundi Hill. Perched on top is the Chamundeshwari Temple of the 12th century. The South India tour packages will also include the beautiful Gothic styled St. Philomena’s Church and the popular Brindavan Garden. This garden with musical fountains and lighting is a treat for the eyes.

South India Tour of Tamil Nadu

The South India travel packages kicks off with sightseeing in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. A visit to the Fort Museum, Kapaleeshwar Temple, Marina beach, St. Thomas Cathedral and the Snake Park is followed by a drive to Kanchipuram which is popular for silk saris. Mahabalipuram is well known for the rock hewn Dravidian style temples.

The next few stops are Pondicherry known for the Aurobindo Ashram and Tanjavur, the temple town which is 177 kms away from Pondicherry. Trichy and Madurai also noted for its temples are other places of interest here.

Tour of Kerala - God’s Own Country

From Madurai your tour will take you to the Periyar National Park in Kerala. This protected area is an elephant and a tiger reserve. The enthralling backwater of Kumarakom village is incredibly beautiful with forests, paddy fields and coconut groves. A drive to Fort Kochi is 70 kms from here. Several churches of significance, the Dutch Palace and the Jewish Synagogue should cover your tour. This is the final leg of your tour to South India.
