Orihuela is the south west

Orihuela is in the south west of the Alicante. It is 57 kms away. It was once the capital kingdom. One can take the A – 7 highway form the Alicante to reach there or the road N-322. There are also rail routes from the Alicante to Orihuela.

It is a land and is also very near the coast. There are a lot of beaches here which can be visited by the tourists. The beaches here have very fine sand. The temperature here is almost the same throughout the year. It is very mild and pleasant temperature. There are many orange, almond and olive groves. One can also see a lot of cotton fields. The scenic beauty of the place is also very nice as it is surrounded by the river. There are a lot of palm trees in the north part of the city. To sit in shade of these trees is very relaxing. There are also parks here. This place too has a Muslim origin and one can very evidently see the influence of Muslim culture. The influence is most seen in the agriculture region. The irrigation systems of Orihuela are unbeatable.

There also hill nearby. One can climb on these hills to get a view which is just inexplicable by mere words. The entire coastal area is visible from the hills. One can also find a lot of beaches here where the tourists can spend time and also have fun with the family. There are a lot of villas and rooms that provide accommodation for the tourists. Most of the tourists come to these beach resorts during summer. These places not only just provide accommodation but they also provide a lot of services. One can learn water sports or play golf here.

Orihuela has a rich cultural heritage. This part of Spain is very rich. The first richest part being the Valencia. During the 8th century this was the capital province because of which there are a lot of monuments and buildings which has a lots to see. One such important building that was almost built thousand years back is the Cathedral. It is a mosque. A gothic church by origin this place was later remodeled in the 16th century. There are a lot of other sacred buildings which will be very interesting and informative to see for the tourists.

In essence it is an integration of rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty and hence a great tourist spot.
