4. Nainital: A popular summer retreat since British colonial era, Nainital attracts a large number of backpackers annually. Serene scenic beauty in Nainital is just awesome, with the town being surrounded by lofty Himalayan peaks, pristine lakes & waterfalls and lush green jungles. Walking through stunning trekking trails, exploring outstanding greenery of hills and forests and relaxing on a boat in scenic Nainital lakes give visitors a sense of sheer indulgence. 5. Badrinath: One of sacred char dhams in India, Badrinath is a scenic town in the chamboli district in Uttarakhand. This holy town is believed to be founded by Adi Shankara in 9th century. The precious Bandrinath temple, on the right bank of River Alaknanda, is the major attraction for travelers. This 8th century structure is artistically built and is dedicated to lord Badrinath – an incarnation of lord Vishnu. Beauty of surrounding hills, forests and the gorgeous Alaknanda River is simply mesmerizing.
