Shimla ,the State capital of Himachal Pradesh, is one of the exciting Hill resorts at 2205 m elevation attracting large number of tourists to avail the excellent facilities offered by the HP tourism and easy accessibility facilitated by the transport system of the country, with the Airport at Jubbar-Hatti which is 23 km away, Kalka being the nearest Rail station and all the Northern cities quite at proximate distance to reach Shimla by road, making Shimla tourism a pleasant holiday plan for everyone’s budget.

One of the important spots to visit during a Shimla tour is The Peterhof bungalow in which at least seven viceroys and Governor Generals had lived during Britishraj, the first of them being Earl of Elgin who occupied this place in 1863. After Independence this building was converted as Punjab High court and it is in this spot where Nathu Ram Godsey, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi was tried. In the later period, when Himachal became a State, the building became the Raj Bhawan although sometime in 1981 it was destroyed by fire, and in 1991 it was restructured with an architecture befitting a hill station thus becoming a piece of heritage.

There are many other spots of attraction one to visit during a Shimla tour, which include Lakkar Bazar, Jackoo Hill’s Lord Hanuman temple, St. Michael’s Cathedral, State Museum etc.

Himachal tourism and celebrated Travel Agents have structured wonderful Shimla tour packages at affordable prices from all important destinations in India, whereas the Shimla tour commences by road from New Delhi, from which point participants from other destinations are picked up by the travel conductors for Shimla tour by road then on.

Some of the Shimla tours cover places like Manali, which is an important tourist point in Himachal Pradesh, besides other locations in HP tourism area.

These tour packages are of varied combinations, for instance a 7 nights/8 days Shimla tour takes travellers from New Delhi by Coach, conducts excursion trips to Chail, Kufri etc, and proceeds to Manali on the fourth day, takes them to Nalagarh on the seventh day, to return to Delhi on the eighth day to take their flights to their respective destinations.

Shimla tour packages are priced in such a manner that they cover the return airfare with taxes, Hotel accommodation, Surface tour transport expenses and Sight-seeing tours, besides breakfasts and dinners.

It is very easy to book Shimla tours on line with Travel agents, by entering their web portals and using their search engines and making on line remittances through their payment gateways which are linked to Credit Card organisations and Net banking portals.
