Tourism is the actual backbone as well as support system of our Indian hospitality service industry. It alone contributes a chunk of revenue the fill up our public coffers. The nation has an unbelieving population of a 100 million. As per official data, the amount of net transaction in India from its domestic tourism alone was 740 million USD as back as in 2008. Domestic tourism, as it has been defined, involves residents or citizens of a given country when travel only within that country. Thus, the importance of tourism industry is shaping our economy can easily be understood. Starting right from preparing the itinerary, these people are responsible for making the trip hassle free and pleasantly memorable for the guests. They arrange the different modes of conveyance including booking air and train tickets with reservations for the guests, accommodating their boarding at different locations on a trip etc. A plenty of hassles and list of odd jobs these professionals need to perform to satisfy their clients. The volume of business being huge and according to the financial speculations, it will grow by leaps and bounds in the coming years. The domestic tour operators have to work out all these factors in order to make their guests enjoy a smooth and hassle free trip. The domestic tour operators in the country make handsome profit by catering to their clients travelling to these exquisite spots. During peak seasons, the crowd and the business that these tourist spots rake in is huge. The sector of tour operator in Kolkata has grown in numbers. People of this great city love to travel to distant places and enrich the contrasting cultures. Therefore, the prospect of this business in Kolkata is huge. With a competitive market open to all, the tourism business has turned into a challenging profession. This has proved advantageous to this business as the benchmark of professionalism and quality of service being provided to the clients both have gone up.
