The beaches are very beautiful and scenic and so these islands are included in most India travel packages.

Diu - The union territory of Diu is an island which is located off the south coast of Gujarat. The island was under the Portuguese rule and so, there is a major Portuguese influence on the life and culture of the people there. Diu fort is one of the popular destinations of the island. It is included in most travel India packages.

Majuli - It is the largest river island in India and is surrounded by the mighty Brahmaputra River. It is a serene place which is situated at a distance of around 200 KMs from Guwahati in Assam. It used to be the largest river island in the world but continuous soil erosion has reduced its total land area. There are many ancient temples and religious centers in the island, which are worth visiting during your India tour.

Loktak Lake Islands - Located in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, the floating islands of this lake are famous for their bio-diversity. Loktak Lake is the largest fresh water lake in the world and many different species of birds and animals can be seen in the islands of this lake and the surrounding area. It may not be included in most travel India packages.

Thus, the islands of India are very exotic and very popular with most of the tourists who visit India.
