How to Speed up the PC: What is Spy ware and Why It Needs to Be Removed
Many experts, me included, recommend that the first step in knowing how to speed up the PC is to remove spy ware. If your computer has ever been connected to the internet, it is more than likely that you have some sort of spy ware. You've probably heard the terms spy ware or malware, but what do they refer to? Why should you care if you have spy ware or malware? Spyware and malware fall into the same category of software as viruses. These programs install on your computer without your knowledge and can wreak havoc on your ability to get anything done. Spy ware snoops into the activities and information on your computer and delivers it back to a third party. This could include usernames, passwords, account numbers or anything else on your computer.
Malware is similar to spy ware but can do even more damage. Where spyware is usually passive, malware can be very active. There is little difference between spy ware and malware. Given the opportunity a malware program will infect your entire system and bring it to its knees. One common malware program redirects all search results to wrong websites that could infect your computer with even worse viruses. Making matters worse, this is just the first step for this piece of malware. From there, it slows your computer gradually until the whole thing comes to a standstill. You won't need to worry about computer performance if you get this one though, because long before it takes all of the available memory, it will prevent you from running any programs by corrupting your registry. When you try to run a program on your computer after the registry is infected Windows will return an error saying it doesn't know how to run an.exe file.
I don't like it when the ads for the news on television try to scare you unnecessarily with some alarming story, and I certainly don't want to do that to you, so let's start talking about ways to protect yourself and how to speed up the scathe best bet to combat spy ware or malware is to never get them. Since this isn't always possible with people constantly being on the internet, the next best option is to run a free spyware/ malware detector. The best of them is top antivirus that can be downloaded for free. Microsoft, among others, also has a tool that will do this as well.
