Hire HTML5 Programmers Who Can Take HTML5 to a New Level

By Ravindra Singh Subscribe to RSS | June 25th 2012 | Views:

HTML 5 resulted from the collaboration between the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group (WHATWG). This new version of HTML was based on certain protocols such as:

• HTML, CSS, DOM and JavaScript would continue to remain the basis of HTML5 development

• Subsequent reduction in the requirement of external plugins such as Flash

• Competent error handling

• Enhanced mark up to eliminate scripting

• Device independent development process

It’s time that some of the myths surrounding HTML5 should be busted for the benefit of the Hire HTML5 developer community. The 7 major myths are:

• Myth 1: The developer community felt that HTML5 was invented to support iPhone’s web applications since the iOS platform did not support Flash.

Truth: HTML5 was not created to meet the demands of the Flash platform. HTML5 was born out the need to come up with better design principles for the web. In 2004, Mozilla and Opera came up with design protocols and proposed the same to W3C as a roadmap for a smarter and a faster web. The proposal was accepted in 2006 and in a span of 3 years, that is 2009, new specifications were drafted, approved and implemented. Since then there has been a great demand to hire HTML5 programmers.

• Myth 2: The developer community believed that HTML5 would not be ready for use till 2012.

Truth: The renewed HTML5 draft that was created got closed in 2009 thereby, creating a doubt regarding its use. Since its onset, HTML5 was supported by both Mozilla and Opera thereby, leaving no space for redundancy of any kind with older browsers.

• Myth 3: The developer community felt that CSS3 is one of the most urgent requirements for HTML5.

Truth: Since HTML5 is a mark up and therefore it requires complete styling when it comes to presenting elements of design. With the browser becoming more powerful in itself, everything regarding the design is more concerned with rules that one needs to abide by while creating the layout with the mark up.

• Myth 4: The developer community believed that HTML5 ruins the accessibility factor which is one of the most important conditions for anything that runs on the web.

Truth: Rather the coding specifications for HTML5 were specifically drafted to offer increased accessibility thereby, laying the framework in way so that each element is compatible with WIA ARIA roles. These roles are eminent attributes that are added to the tags to enable accessibility devices to interpret the site’s workflow and content in a much better way.

• Myth 5: The developer community believed that HTML5 will result in complete elimination of Flash.

Truth: In the gamut of web based design and application, Flash is indispensable. In reality, full HTML5 support requires multiple encoding rounds of Flash support.

• Myth 6: The developer community felt that if they add the new HTML5doc type to their site, it would become HTML5 compliant.

Truth: The reality remains that the addition of the HTML5 doctype will make it HTML5 as far as the browser compatibility is concerned, but HTML5 is much more than a doctype. Rather it is a full set of best practices.

• Myth 7: The developer community believed that the use of HTML5 would usher in more profit and new opportunities.

Truth: HTML5 is more about evolved design principles for the web. One should be driven by the love for designing something extraordinary. This approach will naturally usher in more opportunities. Adopting HTML5 just for the sake of gains is a completely flimsy approach.
