Prominent Tourist Places to See in Northern India

There are a number of tourist places in northern India that attract the visitors from all over the world. Delhi, Agra, Varanasi, Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park, Jim Corbett National Park, Kashmir Valley, Ladakh, Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, Mussoorie, etc are some popular tourist destinations in the region which are visited by a number of domestic and international tourists each year. Here is brief information about three most prominent tourist places to see in the region. Have a look at them.

Delhi, the capital city of India, is a prominent tourist destination in northern India. It is a city where you can observe the marvelous blend of modernity and traditional charm. It is the city where you can see UNESCO World Heritage Site, historical monuments, places of worship and cultural objects. Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb are world heritage sites in the city that attract the tourists from all over the world. These monuments are architecturally beautiful and famous for their historical and heritage importance.

Agra is a historical city in Uttar Pradesh state of India. It is famous for Mughal monuments – Taj Mahal (constructed by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal), Agar Fort (constructed by Mughal emperor Akbar), Fatehpur Sikri (constructed by Mughal emperor Akbar) and Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb (constructed by Mughal empress Noor Jahan the remembrance of her father). Taj Mahal (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Jaipur, the capital & largest city of Indian state of Rajasthan, is one of the most prominent tourist places in Rajasthan and India.
