Cannes Things to Do

Despite being known for the film festival that is held every year, there are many other things for visitors to do in Cannes. Among the many exclusive boutique shops and restaurants there are many historical locations and museums to visit. For those looking for adventure there are plenty of sporting activities and there are numerous hotels in Cannes that are reasonably priced.

Museums and Attractions

La Castre fortification is a museum that displays everything to do with perfume and Musée de la Castre holds many works of art, sculptures and paintings as well as sections that are dedicated ethnography that has relics from Roman and Greek civilisations, Peruvian and Mayan pottery. There is also a maritime museum, Musée de la Mer that can be found in a fort on one of the Lérins Islands. St. Marguerite is situated just off the coast and as well as underwater finds, the museum has an exhibition about the famed “Man in the Iron Mask”.

Art Galleries

In Cannes, there are a few art galleries that are home to a number of collections that are both modern and classical. Many of the galleries will often display the works of local artists.

Air Odyssey

Visitors to Cannes are able to take a 45-minute flight over a number of areas around Cannes including the Corniche d’or while passing over the Estrel volcano. The journey also takes passengers over the Lérins Island, which is south of Cannes and travels over some of the bay around Cannes including the bay of Agay and the bay of Cannes.
