Why cruises are the best way to see what Patagonia has to offer

Patagonia is known the world over for its fantastic sights and the experiences that are on offer. It's one of the last parts of the world that truly feels undiscovered because of the region's natural beauty that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. The landscape is ripe with natural and wondrous features, such as the placid lakes, monstrous cliff edges sprinkled with snow and its rich, colourful forests.

As well as the bright South American characteristics and climate it shares with its neighbouring areas in Chile and Argentina, Patagonia continues to remain truly unique further south as it also bears a beautiful winter landscape as it reaches out towards Antarctica, and the best way to experience this sight is on one of the many cruises on offer that take you right out into the crystal-blue icy landscape that is the overwhelming and inspiring Southern Ocean.

Passengers can enjoy 4 or 5 days (usually) aboard one of the industry's most comfortable and luxurious ships that offer food and entertainment as they navigate through such destinations as Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Fjords, and even the Chilean islands, allowing them the once in a lifetime opportunity to witness first hand waterfalls, burrowing penguins and Patagonia's very own world famous selection of astonishing glaciers, such as Perito Moreno, one of the world's few 'advancing' glaciers, growing by approximately two metres per day.

The cruises are often referred to as 'adventures' because they really are voyages into vast icy wilderness, offering visitors of Patagonia a trip like no other that genuinely feels like a discovery into a place untouched by man, blanketed in delicate white. With no recorded perminent human residence, Antarctica is a great place to experience if you want to escape the rut of everyday humdrum city life.

As Patagonia stretches through the Chilean islands right the way down to Antarctica, it makes sense to take advantage of the glamourous cruises at hand to observe not only Patagonia but also the bewildering places and sights that surround it.

On land, visitors to Patagonia regularly take the chance to observe the wildlife such as Deer, Pumas, and Guanacos among many more, but only those that take advantage of the cruises get to witness such exciting wildlife as the Whales, Elephant Seals and Dolphins.

The cruises are widely considered to be the climax to a fun-packed visit to Patagonia. They can be a great way to finalise a visit to a unique part of the globe, and has the potential to be a relaxing and peaceful cruise through beautiful waters and an exciting venture through a part of the world left untouched that captivates passengers with the dramatic coastlines and stunning sights.
