Tides of moving companies
Traslochi aziendali- A moving and removal company, or van line are companies that have helped people and businesses in relocating their goods from one place to another since hundreds of years. Initially they used carts to do so, but today with trucks, especial van containers, shipping containers and cranes they are making international moves.
Since then moving companies (Traslochi) have faced a history of competition, regulation, and financial challenges and today’s industry in spite of expert marketing assistance, are facing even greater issues as they prepare for the future. Current situation demands industrialist to take a look into dedicative past and towards a more technology updated present to survive the journey ahead in future.
Current scenario can be explained in context of Janus, the Roman god of change and transition. He had the ability to see both the future and past—a gift from the Roman god Saturn for his generous hospitality. The Romans represented Janus as having two heads facing opposite directions—one reflects on the past while the other contemplates the future. Few would disagree that moving companies are currently in the process of change and transition but the fact is true.
Those who have worked for moving industry in its collapsing phase share their experience about working of companies at that time. Preventivo trasloco activities at that time including rate bureau to decide over the rates were under the watchful eye of the federal government. Companies use to get latitude, allowing them to discount the benchmark or tariff rates.
Now there is a major change in functioning of moving companies. Industry is getting tougher to survive. Several of agencies are failing to move furniture efficiently. Some blame poor labor services, others have salespeople and their discounts to blame, rest blame it on reduced driver earnings for the failure. Arguably, only two issues having the greatest effect on the industry during the past 30 years; rates and regulation. The manner in which the industry establishes rates for the services it provides and the extent of government regulation in the industry have made government struggle with how rates should be developed in the moving and storage industry, as well as in the entire motor carrier industry.
Until on May 7, 2007, when removal companies experienced a drastic regulatory change, some of the countries Transportation Boards announced the decision to end “collective ratemaking.” The board decided that the rate bureaus will no longer operate as they were “anti-competitive” and no longer served the public interest. As a result, collective actions ended and individual carriers had to publish their own separate tariffs. This ruling went into effect on January 1, 2008.
