Ever longed to visit Los Angeles? Known as the city of stars, the city has been marked as the centre for movie studios and movie stars. If you are in Los Angeles, there is no way that you cannot escape visiting Hollywood. The word Hollywood is so famous that it is used as a metonym for American cinema. Can you imagine that? The city is known as L.A and is the most populous city in California and the second most populous city in the United States. Los Angeles was founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It was actually a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. It was only in 1848 after the Mexican-American war ended when Los Angeles and California became part of the United States.

About The Culture

The city has been stamped as the "Creative Capital of the World" because of the fact that most of the residents work in the creative industry. The city shelters more artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, dancers and musicians than any other city at any time in the history of civilization. There are more than 1,100 annual theatrical productions and 21 openings almost every week. Did you know that there are around 841 museums and galleries in Los Angeles County?

Places to visit in Los Angeles

Well, to begin with La Brea Tar Pits is the perfect place to go in Los Angeles if you decide to travel to the past, because you can find the bones of numerous animals that lived in the past. By spending just 7 dollars you can witness the amazing tar bubbling up and students and workers digging up animal bones. Petersen Automotive Museum is a visual treat for car lovers as there are four exclusive floors in the museum where cars, trucks and even motorcycles are displayed. If you want to know how a big budget movie is created, the right place for you to visit will be Universal studios. You will be able to walk through sets used for movies seen all over the world.

I believe there would be no person left in Los Angeles who hasn't heard of Sunset Boulevard. One can enjoy live music, comedy bars, famous landmarks, and more. You should also View the Los Angeles skyline from atop a hill when you visit the J. Paul Getty Center. Then there is Hollywood of course. You cannot resist taking pictures of Hollywood sign, visiting Ripley's museum or just walking down the place and enjoying the environment. For shopaholics, there is Rodeo drive. Nothing can be more soothing than spending some time at the Los Angeles Zoo. Hollywood Bowl is the picture perfect destination to enjoy musical performances. Music Centre is the location for Academy Awards program. This and much more of such entertaining destinations await you at Los Angeles.

The city enjoys a subtropical-Mediterranean climate. Los Angeles enjoys plenty of sunshine throughout the year. The city is divided into over 80 districts and neighborhoods. I have been a resident of the city for the past ten years and I have loved being a part of this place always. For a city with so many entertaining factors to rely upon, the safety of the residents and the museums is one thing that has eyed my interest always. Precious things always require safeguarding. I have seen people safeguarding their homes from services providers such as ADT Alarm Systems. I am sure the precious possessions of the city need similar safeguarding as well.

No matter where you are from, if you are planning for a nice and long vacation, then the ideal place for you to visit would be the city of Los Angeles. This city has something in store for every person. As quoted by Miranda Richardson, "You can have a laugh in Los Angeles, or you can weep in Los Angeles, depending on your attitude towards it."
