Idyllic Isle Offerings
Spain has many islands which are called “isla” where some piece of land is situated between two rivers’ mouths; particularly, the River Guadiana which borders Portugal and River Carretas which distinguishes Isla Cristina and Isla Canela. There is only a simple bridge connecting the Iberian Peninsula to Ayamonte.
Island Offerings
There are 7 kilometers of sand dunes and fine white sandy beaches near the Natural Park of Ayamonte which offers all the best of water sports amenities and facilities for a great time in the sun.
The marsh land at the park is full of inhabitants of various kinds like the avocet and spoonbill. One can stroll or bicycle along the park trails; even horseback riding is allowed to enjoy the best of the island. Boat rides on the river Carreras will allow the tourists to view the natural beauty of this island.
Holiday destination
Isla Canela is popular as a holiday destination with many types of luxurious and affordable hotels to cater to its growing number of tourists. There is no problem booking a good and affordable accommodation on this island to enjoy the best idyllic holiday in Spain.
There is a marina, 18-hole golf course and many other sports for some great fun in any island holiday vacation. The excellent holiday vacation is made perfect through the moderate waves and great breeze which is ideal for kite or wind surfing activities.
Livelihood
This island provides a great avenue for the locals who are mainly fishermen. The fishing tradition has been around for a long time. Even the Roman mausoleum called “Punta del Moral” showcases many archaeological remains that proved the early existence of the fishing trade that promoted salted fish manufacturing. It is as early as 300 AD that Isla Canela has been known to be involved with fishing.
This island tradition is greatly enjoyed in many of the regional cuisine where fish and other types of seafood like lobsters and shrimps are used in many of the local dishes.
Isla Cristina
On the other hand, Isla Cristina is a charming town on the west of Huelva. It is a small island town with water surrounding it but there are beaches and marshes also. The pine forests grow in fertile soil close to the natural park that becomes home to many birds.
About the same offerings exist on Isla Cristina as Isla Canela. Both these isles offer great natural landscapes and sunsets with reddish tones reflecting on the shore.
