Why Offset Printing is so Sought After
Cheap and best is how you describe offset printing. It is for sure the most economical mode used to get high quality prints in the industry. The highlight of offset printing is that it produces high quality images and it is quick and easy process in comparison to other printing forms. The high-resolution image and the precision of the same that comes through this facility have a huge following. Moreover, the accuracy factor in printing makes it the most sought after and it is owing to these reasons that publishers, newspapers and businesses depend on this facility more than anything else. The working structure of the printing facility is interesting. To start with the inked image is taken from a plate to rubber blanket and lastly to printing surface.
Apart from the paper used in the printing process, there are several other materials used like rubber, fabric and wood. It is a combination of all this that results in such accurate results and hence being sought after by one and all.
There are however, a few disadvantages too; the printing plates become sensitive owing to chemical oxidation and need to be maintained. Also, the time and cost for producing plates and printing press setup is bit on the up in comparison with other printing process. Talking of plates used in offset printing; of the different types of plates used the latest of the lot is CTP, i.e. computer to plate. This facility is used mostly in newspaper industry where the edited and designed page is directly turned in to a plate through a software process. The creative work of editors is thus turned in to a publication by using CTP.
