By Julia Roger Subscribe to RSS | December 15th 2011 | Views:

There was a time when manual typewriters were the only option when it came to doing writing work done. However, with the advancement in technology, this has changed hugely. Today, laptops, word processing software and computers have completely done away with this need. Well, almost. By no means they are ‘extinct’ and are used to a fair extent in some parts of the world. At the same time it is a fact that though they are treated as essential tools, they have not been able to do away with the charm of manual typewriters. These are still regarded as back up tools and that explains why they are still very popular. It was in the year 1920 that these devices were developed. As its use gained momentum, its popularity reached the rooftop.

Everything changes with time. People change, technology change and say what you may.. This was evident from the advent of electric typewriters which replaced the manual kinds. In earlier days when the manual variety was in use, the designing was done keeping the noticeable distinctions as well as principal mechanics. From time to time improvements were conducted on basic designing aspects. It was such improvements that played a leading role in making typing simpler and quicker.

Industry insiders believe it was the continuous efforts of manufacturers that saw the coming of electric typewriters. Just like all the human fingers are not same, similar is the case with needs and requirements of individuals. Keeping this aspect in mind, manufacturers have come out with a number of models. Each model has a unique level of functionality thereby successfully grabbing the acceptance of individuals. These machines are praiseworthy for their role in reducing human labor and saving crucial time..
