How to Make a Plug Adapter While Travelling
When you travel, you feel the need of having an adapter for electronic devices. These devices get a new life when connected to a socket. If you can make one for your own use, you do not have to rely on the availability or the conditions of the adapters. The design is simple and easy to make. Your expenses are also not too high and they are safe to use s well. These adapters work on the principle that, you are travelling to a country with the same voltage as your own country. Otherwise, these adapters will not be as efficient as you expect them to be.
There are steps which you should follow while making one travel adapter. First you have to decide whether you need a single socket or multiple sockets. Depending on this you have to get hold of the suitable socket and the length of the cable should be adequate. You can consider using an old extension lead, trailing socket or computer type multi-block lead. You should obtain a local plug that is suitable for the local sockets. Always ensure that you do not exceed the safe power rating as per the local standards.
While doing all these you should also keep certain things in mind. Always consider the height of the travel adapter above the ground and the length from where you need to access the power. The lead used by you should be longer if the sockets are behind the furniture or otherwise not within the easy reach. You should only cut the outer sheathing on flex to uncover only the required length of the cable to reach the connection blocks. No bare wire should be present in the scene. Be sure of what you are doing and any doubt should be cleared from an experienced electrician.
