A hard disk drive is a non volatile storage device for digital data. It is the main and largest storage device in a computer. This will read the data by detecting the magnetization of the material. A motherboard is the printed circuit board in modern computers and holds many components. Motherboard is the connector for other peripherals, and it is also known as main board and system board. This contains a computer’s basic circuitry, and it is affixed or imprinted to the surface of a firm planar surface. It is generally manufactured in a single step. Today, the most common motherboard used in desktop computers is AT motherboard. This is based on the IBM. A more recent motherboard specification is ATX. The components included in the motherboard are Interconnecting circuitry, Expansion slot, memory, the microprocessor, coprocessor and basic input/ output system (BIOS).

During the early days, hard disk price was expensive and it was huge in mainframe computers. Hard disk manufacturing and design have significantly improved for the past few years. Higher capacity hard drives are available for the same price. Few years back, 160GB hard disk was the highest capacity. The internal hard disks are cheaper than external hard disks. External hard disks are portable and commonly used for data transfer. Smaller capacity hard drive is comfortable for external drives. For mass storage applications, cheaper and higher capacity internal hard drives are preferable. Seagate hard disks are most popular in the market today. This hard disk is cheaper and has five year warranty. The hard disk price is approximately starting from Rs1500 to Rs15000. The user can get high capacity hard disk at lower price rate.
