An Overview of the Nightlife in Doha

One of the first things you need to learn if you are planning to take a holiday in Doha is that it is an Islamic city. Subsequently, many of the locals of do not drink any alcoholic beverages. Consequently, the nightlife there is not the lively din of activity that you would find in the larger cities of the Middle East and Persian Gulf regions. However, this does not mean that you cannot enjoy an evening out when you are on holiday there.

You can always obtain nightlife information in the lobby of any Doha hotel. Here are a few ideas for some of the better nightlife venues in Qatar’s capital city.

The Ritz-Carlton Doha - there are numerous entertainment venues under one roof here which include the Admiral’s Club on the waterfront with music provided by renowned DJ’s or the Shisha Diwan which doesn’t serve any alcoholic beverages. However, the most of the locals will tell you that the highlight of the evening is smoking a water pipe (fruit-flavoured).

The Aussie Bar - located in the Rydges Plaza Hotel, The Aussie Bar is one of the newer and totally fun additions to the nightlife scene.

Waterhole Disco Lounge - this is a great place to start out your evening relaxing with good food, great music, and a lively environment filled with live band performances on weekdays.
