Tabie Kim - the Indomitable Violinist

Tabie Kim, or Kim Tara Tabie had a dream which she would abandon for nothing…she will become a violinist. Ever since her friend Myunghee Chun Kim first introduced her to the sweet sound and melody of a violin, she fell in love with the instrument. However, the truth was that as long as she lived in China, her dreams of becoming an orchestra violinist would be quite hard to achieve. And to that Kim Tabie said "No problem!" and along with Myunghee Chun Kim decided it was time to pack and move to the great United States of America, the land of opportunity.

When they arrived, neither of the young women really had any musical training other than what they were able to practice by themselves. For the years that came, both Kim Tara Tabie and Myunghee Chun Kim worked as waitresses, taking music classes on the side. After a few years, the young women started to actually find places that were willing to let them play, albeit for free. Regardless, they still jumped on the chance to put their name out there, a strategy which proved to be the start of their success. After a few appearances at various small restaurants, they were getting invited to a variety of classy and luxurious establishments; making so much money that they could afford to quit their waitress jobs.

After a few years of performing at some more or less important concerts, both Tabie Kim and Myunghee Chun Kim started to receive invitations to play in some local orchestras. As their popularity kept growing, they were hired by more and more important orchestras; to the point where today they travel around the world, from country to country, performing in different orchestras which specifically asked for their service. To make a long story short, even endless years of hard work pay off at one point, provided that the efforts are not abandoned.
