If you’re in the midst of planning your wedding, you’re most likely thinking about hundreds of things to book, send and purchase. From flowers to invitations, the details that go into planning a wedding can be extreme and keeping them all straight can be daunting. One of the things that many people leave for the last minute is the music. The music, however, should be one of the first things a couple considers when wedding planning especially if they plan on booking a Chicago wedding band. Bands can book up very quickly, sometimes a year in advance; so once you’ve decided on the band, reserve it as soon as you can.

The key, in finding that perfect band, however, is making sure they play the type of music you and your future spouse love. If you’re not a traditional personal and would rather have people dancing at your reception rather than yawning, try some of these contemporary artists to get people out on the dance floor. Surprisingly, a Chicago wedding band can play songs that are both traditional and modern, so talk with your wedding band in Chicago to see what types of songs and artists they would recommend. If they are unable to play one of your favorites, but you’d really like to dance to that particular song, simply ask them to play it on an iPod. With that said, here are a few artists that most Chicago wedding bands know how to play.

Gnarles Barkley

Beyoncé

Black Eyed Peas

Colby Caillat

Maroon 5

Cee Lo Green

Lady Gaga

Bruno Mars

Usher

Justin Timberlake

Gwen Stefani

Usher

Jay-Z

These artists have many hit songs that are sure to make your guests get out of their seats and enjoy themselves on the dance floor. If you’re nervous about having too many modern songs, throw in a few classics to keep everyone happy. Work with your Chicago wedding band to construct the perfect playlist.

Your wedding will be one that you and your guests will remember forever if you choose the right music. There are many bands, trios, soloists and more who can perform wonderful music at your wedding reception. Take some time with your partner to research bands and musical acts in your area to find one who can play the contemporary music you desire. After the music is set, you won’t have to think about that portion of your wedding until the day of, leaving you time to fuss over other planning details.
