Newer and cost effective mobile tariff plans to the subscribers’ advantage

By Subramanian Iyerr Subscribe to RSS | April 18th 2012 | Views:

If you think mobile tariff plays a vital role for staying connected with people who matter to you, you are right. Ask people around and you will get the same response from anyone. In today’s stress prone busy corporate life, people hardly have time for social life. Regular meets and get-togethers are a far-fetched affair for many. It is the mobile that comes to the rescue. You can still maintain the bonding with people who matter to you, with your friends and relatives. It matters not whether they are located near you, stay within a range of a few kilometers or in another state or even another country. Mobile tariff differs from circle to circle. Local, STD, and international call rates vary from one service provider to another. You may choose a mobile tariff plan that facilitates free phone call and other benefits.

Subscribers of mobile phones are only increasing by the day, the momentum noticed more in the rural areas; thanks to the reach of mobile networks and services in the rural and semi-rural areas. No wonder in January 2012 alone, 8.44 million new GSM subscribers were added. This is a 1.32 percent increase from the previous month. The total GSM subscribers count is estimated at 648.08 million as of January 2012 as per a survey conducted by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). Currently the mobile service diffusion is about 51 percent. This diffusion is estimated to grow to 72 percent by the year 2016. The increasing subscriber count is creating more competition amongst the network operators. Subscribers only get benefited because newer and cost effective mobile tariff plans get released every now and then. And local, STD, and international call rates are only going lower by the day. For local calls, mobile tariff has gone as low as 1 paise for every two seconds.

Making a free phone call is no big deal today. You will come across a single provider offering a range of mobile tariff plans that facilitate free phone call. There are dedicated plans for all circles. Paying a lump sum denomination, you get several seconds or minutes of free calling. For example, with igain-123 for Rs. 123, you enjoy 300 STD minutes of free phone call. With igain-198 for Rs. 198, you enjoy 120000 seconds of local calls for free to the same operator in addition to 42000 local off-net seconds. There are many such plans available to your advantage. A research will well serve your purpose.

What about enjoying international call rates at 1 p/sec to the United Kingdom, Canada, and USA? Calling to friends and relatives located in Greece, Singapore, Spain Fixed, China and Hong Kong is possible at 2 p/sec. And then, it is 3 p/sec rates for Malaysia, Romania Fixed and Thailand. International call rates differ from country to country. Calling to Oman, Myanmar and Libya can be the most expensive. Call charges levied are 25 p/sec. It is igain-18 mobile tariff plan that facilitates such low cost international calling.
