The Ultimate Guide to concrete cutting.
The plumbing is placed almost 6 inches below the surface, you need to follow the below mentioned instructions to reach the concrete slab and cut it to suit the expectation. If you have to cut the concrete slab below for plumbing work, remember, it is not an easy task. To perform this job, either take help from professionals or learn the process of concrete cutting. You might have to work on the concrete floor for end number of reasons. For example, you might have to repair the line or fix a new one.
Then measure six inches over the line at each end and mark with another chalk line. Repeat the process for the right side as well. Now you have a 12 inch long channel where you have to fit the pipe. In case you need to fix more pipes, you can repeat the process and add inches by maintaining proper gap at both ends.
Start by marking two points on the concrete floor. One as the initial starting point and the other, the end point. Use a chalk and mark both points properly. Make the line bold and visible on the concrete floor.
As said concrete cutting is a difficult process, now you have to place the cutting blade in front and walk-behind the cutter after crossing the chalk line from the right. Then position it properly so that the blade contacts the end of the line perfectly.
Switch on the blade and see how it starts rotating. Since the blade rotates very fast, it has to be fixed slightly above the ground level.
Repeat the cutting process on the other side and get same result.
Now lower the concrete cutting blade and allow it to cut the slab properly. The blade will penetrate into the floor and then you will have to guide it and lower it straight to cut the slab in proper shape. Once the blade reaches the end point, unplug it and move it aside.
This is how you can cut the concrete slab at home just with the help of a concrete cutter.
