Concrete saw cutting - an Overview
There is hardly any construction which is not made by this element. This can also be described as an artificial stone like hard material. Following are some characteristics of this material which is all natural, recyclable and the most frequently used material in construction. While erecting a construction or structure the very basic framework needs a good and strong support. This is offered by a mixture called concrete. It is basically mixture of gravel, cement, steel rods and water. It is a very strong material and has an enormous shelf life (approx. 50, 000 years). It gets hardened as it dries up. It was first made in 500 BC, has been in use since then. You can find it everywhere; on the roads, in the houses, on the sidewalks or skywalks, at airports or on roads etc. Its presence is everywhere and you cannot deny its importance in any and every structure.
These tools enable workers to cut this hard substance into desired shapes or sizes to fit in adequately. However, working with concrete is always better while it is still wet and flowing, but sometimes pre-set molds like molded concrete bricks or molds need the shaping up. That time these tools appear into the picture. Today we carry on with the legacy of concrete use. Instead of using various molds today there are many types construction tools available which help us cutting and shaping the concrete. Though it is very much resistance to cutting, advanced sciences and technology along with man’s innovative brain power has developed concrete saw cutting tools for manipulating the sizes and shapes of concrete to fit into the requirement of specific construction.
It is strong, inexpensive, plentiful, and easy to make. But more importantly, it's versatile. It can be molded to just about any shape while it is still wet. By weight, one-half to two-thirds of our infrastructures are made of concrete such as: roads, bridges, buildings, airports, sewers, canals, dams, water and/ or sewage pipe and subways. Concrete technology was known and pioneered by the Ancient Romans and was commonly used within the Roman Empire for erecting many strong monuments like Roman Pantheon, where solid concrete is used instead of rocks. They were amazed by its molding capacity and strength after drying up, hence they used it in various shapes and molds. After the Empire passed, use of concrete became scarce until the technology was re-pioneered in the mid-18th century.
