Low back pain (also referred to as Lumbago) has become a common problem for most of the people. It has been observed in various surveys that 80% people suffer these kinds of pain at some point in their lives. It is one of the most common problems for the people in United States. These kinds of pain may be different for different age groups and the treatment should be done accordingly. Common types of lower back pain that occurs for young adults are leg pain, pain with certain movements and positions and the pain that occur in standing or walking. Leg pain can radiates through the buttocks as well as possibly down to the foot, is frequently caused by a disc herniation in the lower spine. This kind of pain may be worse after a long period of sitting or standing.
Sometimes a vertebral body in the low back slips forward which causes stress on the disc below it. This may also cause the low back pain as well as sometimes cause leg pain. In young age, these kinds of symptoms are caused sometimes by a stress fracture. Lower back pain is also caused by certain movements and positions like running or bending forward. These kinds of pain caused by a syndrome called degenerative disc disease. These pains can become chronic pains and can fluctuate at times before significantly worse. Many people take these kinds of pain lightly which should not be. You must consult to a doctor as you feel any kinds of pain in the lower back.
