History and future of growth hormone related treatment
Most of us have heard about female hormone therapy; however, not all are sure of what it exactly means. The female hormone therapy treatment actually began in the early 50’s of the 20th century, when human beings learnt the process of extracting the human growth hormone from the human sources. Initially, the growth hormone derived from the various sources like from other animals was deemed ineffective as the hormones present in the humans were different from the animals like cattle and pigs. But, with the successful purification achieved by Maurice Raben from the human sources, the hormone therapy treatment was considered viable option for treating different types of diseases, especially dwarfism caused due to hormone deficiency.
Future of the hormone therapy treatment
Previously there was a severe short supply of the growth hormones for being used in the female hormone therapy treatment as they were said to be extracted from the human pituitary gland during autopsy and very few people were actually willing to be a volunteer. Only patients with severe cases were given the hormone therapy due to the prevailing shortage. However, with the breakthrough in 1981, any patient suffering from the hormone related problems could receive the therapy treatment with ease. This therapy is effective on people who are affected mainly by dwarfism that is caused due to hormonal deficiency. The children are administered this therapy and show positive results within a short time.
