The Evolution of Distance Learning Courses
The internet has changed the entire concept of education these days. In the presence of e-learning and several other methods, education and learning is fun and interesting like never before. Today, students from all corners of the globe can get into the virtual classrooms for pursuing their dreams.
The online distance learning courses have given fresh hope and inspiration towards learning. However, you would be amazed to know that this concept of online courses first began in the 1980’s. At that time, some of the renowned educational institutes hired professional instructors to train the students. The entire idea proved to be very expensive as computers during that time were still very costly and the technology behind e-learning was also not developed. However, the attempt of first e-learning gained support from all corners. It soon became popular as students started to enjoy the interactive mode more than any other thing. However, difficulties started in the form of the ‘blank time’. The students could not study and revise the course content in their free time.
The lack of flexibility of the online distance learning courses in the 1980’s posed as the greatest hindrance towards quality interactive learning. Luckily, the slump soon came to an end with the arrival of multimedia. The slide shows made through Power Point took online education to a new level. This trend of learning with the help of multimedia is in practice even today. Nowadays, even online MBA courses are designed with slide shows and other Power Point tools for making them as interactive and interesting as possible. Online education started functioning seriously during the 1990’s. The online MBA courses too started becoming popular from that time. Companies engaged in e-learning gave their entire focus to businesses that previously hesitated to hire online professional trainers.
The online distance learning courses and programs soon turned out to be a tremendous success for the training and development of young employees in various organizations. These programs laid the foundation to prepare the employees psychologically for challenges ahead. Slowly, upgraded online learning materials started coming in the market. A steady progress in terms of online education was witnessed during this period. The course content of online MBA courses too started to take a more practical approach.
Nowadays, online MBA courses and several other professional distance learning courses are at their peak. Both students and working professionals are getting their names enrolled in the hope of a secure future.
