This summer arrange for a Blue Mountain tour to experience natural beauty and pleasing atmospheric condition. However, preplanning is necessary. It is no small region to travel and enjoy day’s stay. Rather, there are quite a few towns that are covered within this mountainous region.

The mountainous region of Blue Mountains lies within New South Wales, Australia. The region borders the entire metropolitan area of Sydney and head towards the western side. In fact, the blue mountain region starts from the western side of the Nepean River and then extends westwards towards the Coxs River. If seen geographically, then it is situated within the central region of Sydney Basin. The highest point within this region is Mount Werong.

This beautiful region includes three government areas locally. They are the city of Blue Mountains, the city of Oberon & Lithgow, and the city of Hawkesbury.

It is always better to plan up an outing within region of Australia for a minimum period of 4-5 days. There are plenty of tourist attractions that are located all throughout the region. It is practically impossible to cover all the spots within a single day. Have a look at all the notable tourist attractions within the entire region of Blue Mountains.

Edge Cinema – It provides the finest views of this region.

Giant Staircase – As the name suggest, it is a long walking track that runs down through cliff into Jamison Valley. A fine place for natural walking.

Jenolan Caves – Prehistoric caves formed through limestone. It lies within the south-west region of Katoomba.

Katoomba Railway – It is world’s steepest railway and was once a part of mining tramways within Katoomba (1878 - 1900).

Scenic Skyway – It is situated close to this location and features for the steepest cable car (aerial) available within Australia.

Norman Lindsay Museum & Gallery – It is located at Faulconbridge, Springwood.

Toy Museum – It is situated at Leura.

Knapsack Viaduct – This is the location from where the beautiful sound of Bell Miner (a certain type of bird) can be heard more often.

Lennox Bridge – A beautiful bridge that connects Blaxland from Emu Plains

Locomotive Depot Museum – It is located within Valley Heights.

Zig Zag Railway – This is the only steam-powered railway within Lithgow.

If you visit the Shipley plateau, then you can still be able to visit the apple orchard (last one remaining).
