The mountainous region of Blue Mountains lies within New South Wales, Australia. The region borders the entire metropolitan area of Sydney and head towards the western side. In fact, the blue mountain region starts from the western side of the Nepean River and then extends westwards towards the Coxs River. If seen geographically, then it is situated within the central region of Sydney Basin. The highest point within this region is Mount Werong.
This beautiful region includes three government areas locally. They are the city of Blue Mountains, the city of Oberon & Lithgow, and the city of Hawkesbury.
