Reinventing Toyota Vehicles: Why Cars Need to Be Fun Again

“If it’s not fun to drive, it’s not a car.” This is a solid statement from 55-year old Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda, when the brand launched its fight-back plan on December 2011. Toyota suffered monumental losses due to the consecutive blows of disasters in Japan including earthquakes, tsunamis and the nuclear energy crises. While nature battered the automotive industry, Toyota remains defiant and states that the brand remains unchanged as they continue to strive to make better cars.

Toyoda believes that concept of the vehicle has been reduced to a mere appliance, and the company plans to change that with the vehicles that will rollout from Toyota this year. The CEO also spoke about Kuruma banare or demotorization, the falling out of love for cars. Evidently, the youth’s interest has shifted from vehicles to computer gadgets.

Years ago, teenagers and young professionals saved their money to buy the hottest wheels, and spent hours with their fathers overhauling motors. Today, it’s all about the new iPhone or laptop, not the latest convertible made by an automaker. If this trend continues, it can only spell disaster for the automotive industry. What’s left of creating new, inspiring vehicles when no one sparks the slightest interest in cars anymore?

Toyoda says that the only solution to bring back the enthusiasm for cars is to actually re-invent their automobiles. The moment you put your hands on any Toyota steering wheel, there must be, at least, some rush of genuine excitement. Do drivers even still feel this today? If it is only possible to breathe life into vehicles, Toyota would. But it is up to the brand to make sure that the youth see clearly what their fathers had fallen in love with during their time.

Shoppers looking for a taste of adventure with a new or pre-owned automobile can look into their Edmonton Toyota dealerships that offer the latest premium-quality selection of different types of automobiles. Dealers have put their trust in the brand as it continues to reengineer vehicles. Buyers can set their sights on GT86, a vehicle co-developed with Subaru.

While the brand focuses on remaking truly captivating vehicles, Toyota Edmonton dealers offer various financing plans and maintenance services to ensure that buyers get the vehicle of their choice, and keep it in top condition. Flexible payment schemes can suit any type of budget and a complete array of services, from tune-ups to upgrades with original car parts, are available.

Toyota Edmonton dealerships also take in old cars. Owners who plan to sell their vehicle can contact their local auto dealer. If you would like to read up some more on fun-to-drive cars, visit autos.yahoo.com.
