Children Illustrations: First Step towards Reading

Illustrations are form of literature which is created out as images and pictures. Images or cartoons illustrations are considered in children book at wider scale for letting them to absorb the idea of the texts and deliver the right message to the children. Good illustrations always easily get captured by their minds without any stress. Therefore, the overall stage of development is largely influenced by good illustrations.

It has often seen that the pre-reading takes place in two different forms. The second method is to create a story only seeing the illustrations. They are really the first steps for children towards reading.

Illustrations are most common in children’s books, especially in the books of preschool age children. They have been used for thousands of years to get the artist point correctly. Illustrations can add extra dimension to the original story. The visual clues expand the meaning of the texts.

It has been found that the children are impatient in reading stories. The story in the book included as illustrations automatically allows children to have a quick glance. More impact is put on children through digital illustration and cartoons etc. Therefore, a right illustration should be added in the book which matches the text.
