Is there any point in owning a used Micra car in Essex

Where I live, I see a lot of used Micra Essex cars. That is, what used to be a Nissan Micra but has since been given the Essex makeover, with giant spoilers that weigh the car down so much they really defeat the object of having a spoiler! These can sometime be seen with a mysterious blue glow coming from underneath the car as well! Poor little Micra.

There is one Micra however that gets the full treatment, yet still looks fantastically stylish and sporty. The new Nissan Micra Nismo is its name. It was revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon tuning show. Nismo is Nissan’s in-house tuning division and the release of the Micra Nismo shows just how dedicated Nissan is to expanding its performance sub-brand. Its release follows that of the Nissan Juke Nismo and the Nissan Leaf Nismo.

A variety of Nismo aerodynamic modifications have been made to the exterior; a rear roof spoiler, rear diffuser and deeper front apron and side skirts. It also has a modified grille, a redesigned door mirror design, a new rear lip spoiler, lightweight alloys and a stylish red, white and black colour scheme. The interior gets a sports steering wheel and custom-designed sports seats. The aggressive styling is accentuated by lower, stiffened suspension to make it even sportier. The Micra Nismo is likely to have a tweaked supercharged version of the current 1.2 litre engine. Nismo models are expected to arrive in the UK early 2013.

The popular car has been around since 1982 and is now in its fourth generation. The styling is now smooth yet stylish and a world away from its previous clumsy design. Although you might have wait a year until the Nismo is available, you can still test drive the fantastic Nissan Micra in the meantime!
