Be Beautiful with ‘Ugly Betty’

Ugly Betty is an American television show based on the genre of comedy and drama. It was created by Fernando Gaitan. It was developed by Silvio Horta. Its executive producers are Salma Hayek, Silvio Horta, Ben Silverman, Jose Tamez and Joel Fields. Most of the series is shot in New York, London, UK, Los Angeles, California and Silvercup Studios. The companies involved in its production are Ventanarosa Productions, Silent H Productions, Reville Productions, Touchstoneb Television and ABC Studios. It was telecasted on ABC for the first time on September 28, 2006 and its last season ended on April 14, 2010. The series has successfully produced four seasons with a total of 84 episodes. The main characters in the show are America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade, Vanessa L. Williams as Wilhelmina Slater, Michael Urie as Marc St. Jones, Becki Newton as Amanda Tanen, Ana Orti as Hilda Suarez, Tony Plana as Ignacio Suarez and Mark Indelicato Suarez.

The main plot of the series revolves around a 22 year old American girl named Betty Suarez, who is from Queens, New York. Betty fits in every space but the only deficiency in her are her looks. She is probably not the most beautiful women out there. She is good hearted, naïve and bold. Her problems start to build up, when she takes up a job in fashion magazine Mode. It is a trendy and high class magazine in Manhattan, whose head is Bradford Meade. Bradford gives Betty the job of a personal assistant to Betty to stop his son from landing into relations with the employees.

Daniel and Betty do not get along very well in the starting but as the time goes on, they become good friends and starts helping each other in their problems. The coworkers at Mode are not happy with Betty and Daniel’s closeness. The most opposed person is the creative director of the magazine, Wilhelmina Slater, whose hidden intentions are to take over Daniel’s business and he makes a lot of plans but he never succeeds.
