Pigs are one of the most common found animals around the world. They belong to the Suidae family of even-toed ungulates. Pigs are omnivore’s animals; they are highly social and intelligent animals. Pigs are also closely associated with wild boars and are considered to be from the same family. When we say pigs are omnivores it means that they eat both plants and animals. These animals are generally widespread animals. Most of its subspecies are native to the harshest climates of continental Eurasia and its islands. Some of them are from Africa as well. Pigs also originate from countries like India, Japan, Ireland, Siberia and other. Later it was introduced to countries like Australia, North and South America and many other islands. Also, there are different kinds of species of pigs including wild boar, bearded pigs and warty pigs. These typically adapted well, and are increasing in number and broadening their range outside human control.

Apart from all these features pigs are quite highly domesticated animals. There are a lot of questions like why we need to breed a pig. Why are pigs ideal animals for breeding? Why do farmers Why do farmers include pigs in their list of animals to breed for money and business? Likewise we can ask a number of questions and find numerous benefits for breeding pigs. One of the reasons why people love to breed pigs is because breeding pigs is quite easy and we don’t have to spend much of our time while breeding it. These animals are also capable of producing large litters. They have a short gestation period and normally requires few boars or male pigs to mate with many sows or female pigs. There are numerous ways to breed pigs. We can get a lot of information to breed pigs. One of my friend breeds pigs. Here are some points that can be followed while breeding pigs.

One of the first points to remember while breeding pigs is that we don’t require too many boars while breeding. A single boar can be bought with a age of one year. A boar is capable of breeding with thirty to fifty sows hat are either housed in stalls or in a large pasture. It is always good to gather information about pigs before we start breeding them. In the first instance, it is necessary for us to know where to buy the best boar for breeding plus the best and fertile sows that can produce large litters which are not only healthy, however, capable to producing the best quality litters. There are a number of breeders who sell pigs, all you need to do is find the best. You can also find stores which sell pigs for breeding.

While breeding pigs, it is advisable to select sows that are at least nine to ten months old as it is the ideal age for breeding. You can also buy boars which are at least eight months old. It is good to make them breed with less number of sows when they are young and as they grow older the numbers can be increased. However, one needs to be very careful while breeding sows. Hence it is always good to get them physically checked up before they are left to mate. This is very important because pigs are extremely infectious animals and this could be problematic for its litters as well.
