Segovia is Located near Madrid

Segovia is a city located at about 30 minutes drive from Madrid. The exact location of the city is in the region of Castilla and Leon and it is an important city as it is of historical importance. The city is several thousand years old and it has seen some glorious times in the various eras of Spain. For the same reason it is highly regarded by history lovers. There are many monuments in the city that are worth seeing especially for history lovers. The city was declared as a world heritage site for the same reason in 1985.

The city of Segovia is the capital of the province of Segovia. The province itself is not very large both in terms of area and population and it is a peaceful province with many historical monuments from the various eras of Spain. The province of Segovia has cities, towns and villages. The rural part of the province is as fascinating as the urban part, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the flavors of both urban and rural environments while on a tour.

The province of Segovia is located to the south of Madrid. There are high mountains, rivers, valleys and places of interest in this province. It can be easily approached from Madrid, Burgos, Valladolid, Avila and Soria as it shares borders with them all. There are all kinds of facilities available in the cities as well as in the villages of this province. For the same reason, visitors enjoy some lovely times when they travel through the province of Segovia.

A great thing about Segovia is that it doesn’t have extreme temperatures. The average temperature in the province remains around 15 degrees C. However it goes up and down in various seasons. The overall environment remains comfortable in the whole province and it can be visited at any time of the year. Tourists to the province can enjoy themselves in all seasons because of the pleaseant temperature.

Some of the most famous places in Segovia are the Aqueduct, Cathedral, Calle Real, Corpus Christi, Convents, Museums, Churches and parks. The historical places of Segovia usually inspire more visitors in comparison to modern places. Segovia is famous for many things including its festivals. There are visitors to Segovia from all corners of the world when festivals are held there. Many tourists visit Segovia from Madrid while on their journey and many others specially come to it.
