The place is majestically located between Huelva and the Atlantic Ocean. There are a number of beaches that is worth a visit. Though many of the places at Punta

Umbria are known for historical importance, beaches are something that you will really enjoy. The beaches contain golden sand and are a magnificent sight as you walk on these sandy beaches. You could view the sunrise and sunset from these clean and exotic beaches.

The beaches are well-maintained and you will be amazed by its clean and serene atmosphere, despite the crowd of tourists. The beach has a blue flag that represents the European Union standard for quality of water and cleanliness, facilities at the beach. Near this locality, you also find natural environments that are well-protected like Laguna del Portil, Marismas del Odiel and Enebrales Punta Umbria.

Laguna del Portil is a great lake and has some rare species of birds inhabiting this region. When you go to this lake, you could witness the chirping of the birds and also get a glimpse of many such species that you would not have seen before. One of the noteworthy points of this lake is the chameleon of a rare species that is in the endangered list. So do get a glimpse of such rare species of birds and animals, when you happen to visit this lake.

Marismas del Odiel is another wetland that is spread across 17.7 acres of land. This is a protected home for many species of birds. As these birds migrate from Europe to Africa and vice versa, they settle down in this place as a transit destination. Do not forget to get your binoculars along with you, as you will need them to catch the sight of such birds. Enebrales Punta Umbria is known for its extensive juniper forests that are spread across 29.65 acres of land.

Punta Umbria had many inhabitants, right from Greeks to Romans and many more. Fishing was the main profession during that period and you could still find their remains in many places. There is a mining company called Rio Tinto that was developed by the British during the 19th century. The place became a beach resort for the British.

Winter season is very quiet and during summer this is the best destination for the tourists. It has great nightlife and lot of entertainment activities during this season. Other attractions include water sports like surfing, sailing and lot more.
