When travelling London for the first time

By Glyn Jones Subscribe to RSS | December 9th 2011 | Views:

Travelling is a part our life and we have to travel from a place to other from time to time. When you are travelling the major concerns after arrival, when you are to find some nearby accommodation that is actually good in service and also cheap in pricing. Those who are frequent travelers this is something that would certainly not bother them at all because they are used to the place they are visiting and know all the ways and means through the city. But for the first time visitors it mayscare them off. This is something that can instantly turn out a nightmare instead of a pleasant vacation.

You don’t believe me! Look around you, you can certainly find few instances supporting my view. This is actually a normal fact. When you are visiting some foreign land for the first time you actually know nothing about the place, the transportation and the type of accommodation available out there. Some would suggest making some research about the place. Yes that can be helpful but the real time situations out there can be quite different as compared what is there with the reference sources.

The major problem that a person would face would be transportation. Take an instance from London. There is public transportation available but they arrive at a certain time and that may no coincide with your flight timings. If you are arriving via late night flight it may be quite difficult for you to find an easy public transportation to nearby Gatwick airport hotels.

And the other major problem can come up with the taxi drivers. If you know English its good you can communicate well what you want to say but in other case language can be a problem. And besides that you know cab rouge incidents. Taxi drivers will take you on a long tour around the city before dropping you at the right Gatwick hotels that you have asked for. And if you ask these drivers to take you to some nearby hotel they will take to the one that they are committed to. Some hotel pay these taxi drivers on commission basis for every customer that they bring to their hotel. And in that case issue like service quality and budget suffers a serious set back. Well I’m not trying to scare you out, but I’m just brining to you a part of reality that travelers can face in a foreign land.

The solution to this kind of issue can be your cell phone that has a GPRS system in it. When you know the place in advance that you want to visit, you can direct the cab driver to go which way and what can be the possible short cut to reach the airport hotel Gatwick. And if you have chosen some hotel in advance you can look into their service list if they offer transfer facility from the airport. There are few hotels Gatwick that offer free airport transference facility.

In the end I would wish happy journey and pleasant vacation.
