Mulshi Lake, which is almost 35 km away from Pune, is situated among the Sahyadri Mountains. It is formed by the back water of a major dam constructed on the Mulshi River. Mulshi Lake is surrounded by beautiful Sahyadri hills, which turn out to be lush green during the monsoon. Some of the hills are as high as 3800 feet. One can enjoy the scenic beauty of this dam, the lake and the surrounding hills. It will take just one day to arrange a short trip to this place. The best time to visit this place is during the monsoon as one can enjoy the view of a number of waterfalls which descend from the hills. Khandala is a small hill station which is located at the top end of Bhor Valley. Khandala’s natural beauty is blessed with breath taking lakes and the surrounding abundant greenery. The major lakes at Khandala are Bhushi Lake, Lonavla Lake and Tugauli Lake. It also has a dam known as Walvan Dam which is one of the major tourist attractions of this place. Jain temple is one of the major places to visit in Pune. It is situated over a small hilltop just next to the main Katraj bus stop. Situated within the city, Jain temple is a place to experience. There are two temples here; the small one is surrounded by a water pool, which adds to the beauty of the place. There are huge statues of Sutras and Mahaveerji in this temple. By visiting this place, one gets to know the unique worshiping style of Jainism culture. The night view of the city from the temple top is amazing.
Located in the Raigad district, Shriwardhan Beach is a lovely outing place for people who love peace and also want to get engaged in some adventurous activities. It is located 8 km from Harihareshwar and is known for its scenic beauty. Be it trekking or be it water sports, Shriwardhan Beach has it all for you. This place also has some historic significance as it was once rules by the Peshwas, the rulers of Marathi heritage.
