Toy soldiers are a very popular option for children and more or less features among their top ten priorities. However, this trend is not new as after the First World War, the market was flooded with action figures and military figures. These toy soldiers and their complementary accessories became very popular among the young kids. Marx was the first company to launch these figures in the market and almost had an informal copyright over them.

Many Marx toys like dolls, animals, small cars and other items were available in the market but it is their invention of toy soldiers that overshadowed all and dominated the market during that time. Since, Marx toy soldiers are no more available, they have an antique value, and people are trying to collect them, as a hobby.

A few facts about these toy soldiers are cited below:

• The main materials used to build these toy soldiers were tin and plastic; however, with time, the use of tin become rare and mostly plastic was used.

• Various models of toy soldiers were available and these represented different eras like Napoleonic, world war figures, Victorian and others.

• Many people still have the hobby of collecting these figures and it is not only about the number of figures that one has, but rather one realizes the symbolic significance of each.

If someone is willing to collect toy soldiers, it is best to take the help of magazines related to toy information or even get in touch with people, who are willing to sell their old toys figures. It is interesting to note that these figures are eve sold through auctions; such is their antique value and worth.

However, today’s youth is not longer attracted towards toy soldiers but these have been replaced by figures of action heroes and individual military personnel. However, they still remain fresh as a memory and a precedent to these figures of today.
