The Perfect Shave for Wedding Day

We usually don't think about shaved legs as wedding essentials, but it's one of my favorite things when I'm getting ready to go out. For me, it's a really relaxing ritual. This is especially important for something as potentially stressful as your wedding.

Here is how I get my perfect shave:

1. Exfoliate

Not only does it smooth your skin and provide a better surface to run your blade across your legs. There are a lot of scrubs that you can buy, but you can also make it yourself with a handful of sugar and a few tablespoons of olive oil. After you rinse off the scrub, you can proceed to step 2.

2. Wet Your Legs

You want your legs to be wet long enough to soften your hair and makes it easier to cut. Usually, this takes a few minutes, but you don't want a long soak because it swells up your skin and prevents you from getting a close shave.

3.Find the Perfect Razor

This will be a long and difficult search, but it will pay off! Multiple blades are usually more effective. I love Venus razors, but they might not work for you.

4.The Cream

While you can use a special shaving gel, you can also use a shampoo and conditioner. Avoid products that have alcohol, methol, and peppermint, which can irritate your skin.

5.The Movement

You want to shave in the opposite direction that your skin grows or from ankle upwards. Shave in short and even strokes.

6.After

After you rinse your skin, do not use a loofah or scrub afterwards because you've already exfoliated and don't want to irritate your skin. Make sure to moisturize your legs while they're still damp to maximize absorption.
