Helicopter parts: the useful aircraft
A helicopter is an aircraft that is lifted and propelled by one or more horizontal rotors. Each rotor consists of two or more rotor blades. It always take off and land vertically. It has wings due to which the helicopter can fly in the air .it always use engine for fly purposes as it is heavier than air that’s why it always use engine to fly. As all of you may know, Helicopters have to be capable to fly gradually or still hover for extended periods of time. This prevents the customary use of ram air for cooling down, and demands special supplies to prevent heating up of the engine compartment and engine auxiliaries…
Now the question arises that how a helicopter flies? For fly in the air, the helicopter should have lift. This is only the lift which forces it to move upwards. It is totally based on the Bernoulli Principle. It describes speed and pressure relationship in air. There are many helicopter parts due to which helicopter works and fly in air.
These parts are described below:
Main rotor blade
It produces the lifting force. The weight of a helicopter is divided between the rotor blades on the main rotor system. If a helicopter has two blades and its weight is 5000 lbs, then each blade will definitely support 2500 lbs. it is also used to provide lift and propulsion. Each blade also carries out the dynamic load.
Engine
It produces the power for he helicopter. Some helicopters consist of reciprocating gasoline engines and others include gas turbine engine. It is totally depends upon the requirements of he aircraft.
Stabilizer
The stabilizer bar sits above and across the main rotor blade. Its weight and rotation he stabilizer weakens unwanted vibrations in the main rotor which helps to stabilize the craft during flights.
Transmission
The transmission transmits power from the engine to the main rotors. The transmission helps to decrease speed of the main rotor so that it can’t rotate as fast as the engine shaft.
Rotor mast
It connects the transmission to the rotor assembly. The mast rotates the blade and upper swash plate. It is also known as rotor shaft.
Thus, helicopter’s rotor or rotating blades, or a rotor, allow it to do things many things that an airplane cannot do. It is used for various purposes. It is used as an ambulance for carry patients from one place to another. It is also used by military purposes and many other purposes.
