Four Personality Types Who Would Appreciate a Charity Gift
You may have heard about charity giving. It’s been featured in the press several times before and the idea of “giving a goat for charity” seems to have caught the public imagination pretty well! If you have not heard of it, the definition of charity gifts is quite simple. Instead of giving someone a present, you buy something in their name that gets sent to someone in poverty, which makes a real difference and brings happiness to some of the world’s poorest people.
So who would like a charity gift? Essentially, anyone who cares about other people and/or has a sense of humour is going to like a gift – so that’s a broad spectrum to start with. However, here are some tongue-in-cheek profiles we have put together, of personalities who would be really suitable recipients.
Mr Millionaire Megabucks
The thing about the rich, middle aged man, is that if he hasn’t bought it, it’s likely someone has bought if for him. Perhaps an underling trying to garner favour, a company trying to get his business or a client, thanking him for the great work he has done. When it comes to friends and family to buy something, there’s nothing left that he doesn’t own! So why not give him a sanitation system next time?
The Newest Addition to the Family
It’s customary to give presents to babies at christenings and naming ceremonies, but typically the child isn’t going to remember the gesture and the parents’ house is already stuffed to burst with toys and clothes. Make a gift with a legacy to newborns in poverty and ensure that the children there survive by donating a birthing kit or booster injections. A moving donation to someone the same age in a very different situation abroad.
Pink Princess Perfect
You know the type: manicured to within an inch of her life, pampered, groomed and pressed. Dressed in the finest togs that money can buy and never far from her credit card. However, what does it all mean? It’s not likely that she will be getting her hands dirty to help someone else in the near future (even though her heart is in the right place, darling!). So help her help someone else, and give some chickens and a cow to a farm in need.
Master Chef in the Making
You’ve been round their house more times than you can count to sample their culinary delights. They have the crème brulee of Delia Smith, the roast chicken of Jamie Oliver and the foul mouth of Gordon Ramsey. Okay, maybe not the last one. Nontheless, they have pretty much every kitchen gadget going and are working their way through the cooking lessons you gave them last year. Why not provide school dinner for 20 children on their behalf – it’s almost as good as if they baked it themselves!
I hope that helps to explore some of the many and different ideas behind this alternative kind of gift giving! If in doubt, Google “charity gifts” and have a look through the options out there, there’s bound to be something suitable for the loved ones in your life.
