Once upon a time he was on a vacation to the heart of Adirondack Mountains. and that time he needed outdoor chairs for his summer home. Hence, he developed these special chairs. Since, it was developed on a tour to the Adirondack Mountains its name is derived from there. The name Muskoka was derived from the municipality of Muskoka.

These chairs were originally made from eleven pieces of wood cut from a single board with a straight back and seat. The hallmark of such chairs was the arm rest. However, the more modern ones have a rounded back and a countered seat. The more modern ones have been manufactured by plastic lumber or engineered wood.
