African Americans in early years were shunned because of racial prejudices, but not any more. There are those who have fought their way up to the top and have managed to the secure the highest place in their business and at the same time commanded respect from those around them. Here are some of them:

• Jean Orelien, CEO of SciMetrika: For a person who had to spend his childhood in poverty, to rise up to the position of CEO in a company is a great achievement. He himself confesses that the task had been difficult and he had to go through additional african american entrepreneurs because he was black and yet he was determined to achieve his dreams. He was sure that he would break away from class prejudices.

• Charles Sanders, CEO of Urban Lending Solutions: For the son of a person who owned a trucking company, Charles Sanders made sure that he could utilize his opportunities and pave a way for self in the world and embarked on the mission soon after college. He is now the CEO of his own real estate firm and he makes sure that everyone can achieve their dream of owning a house.

• Leah Brown, CEO of A10 Clinical Research: As a woman, who was driven from childhood to stand on her own two feet, Brown has not only made a position for herself but she also ensures that her work is for the greater good of the society. Her clinical research firm is now the talking point of many as they try and discover new ways to contribute to medical science.

These men are heroes in the truest sense of the term and they will always be so to those who know about them.
