For visitors planning on staying at hotels in Queenstown, there is no reason to be disappointed by the sheer amount of different activities that can be done whilst here. From water activities such as boat cruises, white water rafting, swimming, and jet boating to air activities such as bungee jumping, skydiving and helicopter flights - Queenstown has them all. It is possible to bungee jump from a cable car that is over 130 metres above ground, jump out of an aircraft at 15,000 feet or jet boat through the Shotover Canyons at 80 kilometres per hour. Travellers can also take nearby nature trails, go hiking, cycling, or offroading. There are literally dozens of options available.

For those who want a little less adventure, it is possible to take one of the many tours of the surrounding area. There are several tours of the places where they filmed The Lord of the Rings, plus tours of the local wine region.

Sightseeing is a popular activity because there are so many beautiful places to visit in the surrounding area - Lake Wakatipu, the Remarkables, the Canyons, and many, many more. In all seasons, Queenstown has an array of things to do and see.
