Whether your road bike is borrowed, bought or it is a new one it has to be fancy. Buying a road bike is of the same level as having a family commitment. This is because it a decision that needs one to think, especially if you are buying the road bike for the first time and you need to have an exciting urban cycling.

Road bikes are the most preferred option for urban cycling. There are several road bikes but to get quality, one’s decision is mostly determined by the type of riding. If you are considering owning a bike there are three things that you basically need to know about the bikes.

 Materials: bikes are predominantly made from three different materials. These include carbon fiber, aluminum and steel. Each material is significant and rides on the characteristic that one is looking for. There are several occasions when the materials are mixed. They do this to suit all your needs.

 Frame geometry: it refers to the angle and the tubes that are used to make the road bike. It has so much impact on the bike. It determines how the bike is going to function, an example is the tour bike. They a have wheelbase that is longer, the angels are acute as a result of this it can handle more. They are stable, comfortable and the quality is desirable.

 Components: they include the wheels and the brakes. They largely contribute to a improved ride. Better materials that components that have finer finishes work a lot better and they are durable.

With these three components, you can now determine the type and style that you need for the road bike. The choice depends on what you anticipate to have and the main type of riding you intend to carry out. There are designs for paved streets. This is very fast but they rarely do well in the mountains or even places that have bumps.

Road Bikes have tires that are light in weight. With such bikes, you have to bend in order to get the handlebars. They are not beefy particularly during construction. These bikes do not stand for longer periods. They do not work so well with loads that barely heavy and on the rough surfaces.

Typically, road bikes are supposed to be light. Their design is meant to maintain the rider in an upright position. They can also bend forward to allow them to cut on the wind resistance. The more expensive they are the more light they are, which is the most important aspect. If you are a serious rider or you compete, you can have frames that are light and smooth tires that will give you better contact with the road.

If you check out the styles of the available road bikes and you still do not get one that works for you. There are some exceptions. They are unique and you are not likely to see them in the show rooms or in the local bike shops. They have special features that one can have whatever you might be looking for.
