Are Toy Soldiers Meant for Toddlers
We often come across families that do not allow children to watch cartoons or violent movies in TVs, do not allow the kids to play with guns and soldiers alone or with the friends and try to motivate the kids not to take interest in the more violent games and activities that involves fighting, shooting and killing.
The psychology of the parents is understandable but if we think from a different perspective, it is almost impossible to motivate the kids to stay away from action, especially in the present global unrest when we get to hear of violence in different corners of the world, almost on a regular basis. In addition to this, most boys have an inborn craze for thrill and action and it is really too difficult to force them to think otherwise and such steps can be detrimental to the growth and overall developments to the kids and therefore should be avoided at any cost.
Toy soldiers are one of the most preferred gifts of the toddlers, particularly the young boys. Parents might be reluctant to allow children play with violent accessories such as guns and grenades, even the plastic made show pieces but in reality there is nothing to be worried and playing can never leave a negative thought or belief in the minds of an innocent toddler.
Imagination is a boon to mankind and it is the imagination that has given rise to so many awesome discoveries and inventions some of which have changed the picture of the world. So, we the elders are relying on imagination, why disallow the kids from doing the same? Let them be engaged with the imaginary fantasies and enjoy their childhoods..
