Delhi NCR Nursery School Admissions 2012-2013-2014
From the pack of schools available in the capital city, it is difficult for parents to gauge which is the best one for their tiny-tot. They get hassled in the questions like – Should they select a popular school? Or go for one that is near to their place, though not so known? Or choose one in which your best friend’s children study?
No doubt selecting best nursery school in Delhi is a challenging job. Besides these nominal fears, what parents worry more is how to prepare their little one for the school? This definitely happens to be an important transition for children as well as for the parents. It is imperative for parents to know about kindergarten readiness.
Make sure your toddler is ready for school
Some of the broad points that parents must observe is that if the child is able to interact easily and friendly with other children and adults and also he is able to think and speak logically. Another determining factor is child’s social and emotional development. He should be able to overcome and absorb separation from parents. He should be able to gain self control and must be aware of different relationships with people around him. Also, basic reading and learning skills are important. The child must be able to say his full name, address and phone number and parent’s name.
Choosing best school in the capital
When selecting an appropriate school for the child, parents have to look at lot of factors like child’s safety, quality of education, school activities etc. Preschool education must focus on building whole personality of the child rather than on academics. Essentially preschools need to pay stress on teaching basic social skills to the child and also teach them discipline by adopting a structured routine like beginning of the day with Morning Prayer songs, followed by storytelling, outdoor games, art, music and dance etc. The preschool also must essentially have qualified and educated teaching staff.
Parents must also prefer that preschool should be in the vicinity, which is convenient for them. For example - Families residing in South Delhi must hunt for schools in South Delhi itself. The child spends less time commuting. He leaves from home later in the morning and also comes home early. Also, it is considerably safe to send child to a school which is near to home. Safety is another big issue. A school must ensure child’s safety by not allowing any unknown person to enter into the school premises. Also, school must keep gates locked and guarded.
