Individual medical health insurance
Individual medical health insurance is something that every man and woman should have, unless they are covered by a group plan. Individual medical health insurance can help men and women cover their healthcare costs. Healthcare for anyone can be costly, but with an individual medical health insurance plan, it can help ease the cost and make it easier for these people to continue to live their lives. For some people an individual medical health insurance plan is all that is available to them, so they have to purchase a plan like it. These people may not work for an employer who offers medical health insurance, but they want to have medical health insurance, so they will get an individual plan.
There are some issues with individual medical health insurance. Some people have been denied coverage because of preexisting conditions like heart problems, or other internal issues someone might have. While it is not ethical to deny someone based on a preexisting condition, it makes perfect business sense. It would stand to reason that a person with a heart problem will cost the insurance company more money than someone who is perfectly healthy, and has no preexisting conditions. Laws are different based on group policies and individual policies, so that is why this almost unethical practice is allowed.
Another issue someone might have with individual medical health insurance is that it can be expensive. Since it is an individual plan, and not a group plan, the rates will go up. It only makes sense since the insurance company needs to make money. They will offer discounts to a larger group of people as an incentive to get them to buy the insurance, but to an individual, they will try to make money from them as well. While yes the companies all have to compete with each other, they can still afford to charge more because some people need insurance, and they will pay what they have to in order to get it.
As a whole, individual medical health insurance plans are a great idea, and can be life savers. They can also be expensive, and possibly even unavailable to some. It takes talking to the insurance company that someone is interested in and asking questions, getting answers, and then asking more questions. There is no such thing as asking too many questions when it comes to healthcare, and whether it is the right choice. It is better to ask more questions and be labeled a pest than it is to pay for something that might not be the perfect fit. Each plan is different, and has different pros and cons, as well as prices. Some plans may offer more benefits, but those benefits may not be needed, so look closely at what plans are available and then choose wisely.
